Giant Class Vessel
These mighty vessels serve as the Flagships of the Gas Giant Coalition Defence Force, like the PDRMN Dreadnought or UNSF Long Term Roving Vessel. Serving as the pride of a system, these are named after their patron planet: Zeus, Cronus, Caelus and Poseidon. Each are custom built, but they do have a couple similarities. Caelus and Poseidon are virtually identical, and smaller than their sisters. Zeus is slightly larger than Cronus, with an extra pair of frigates.
All Giant Class Vessels are built for long term habitation, to coast between systems. However, they have been built to tolerate the upper atmosphere of a Gas Giant, mostly because as it is a unique capability only useful to the GGC. They cannot tolerate more than a few atmospheres, and it is recomennded to not stick around, but the capability exists.
GCVs are built as moveable hangers. They carry a small fleet of ships that are not capable or useful at a long range. They are constantly accompanied by an escort fleet, as well as their internal fleet.
Typically, any individual GCV spends only around half their life near their home planet, touring around the solar system for the other half.
There are currently plans to actually scrap the two smaller GCVs and replace them with a single, large vessel that acts as the Flagship of the combined Uranian and Neptunian fleet
