Collins Station

Collins station, built from assets boosted into space on the US moon missions of the 2020s, Collins Station is nowadays a large and prosperous trade hub and elevator stop situated at Earth-Luna L4. It houses command for Luna Fleet, as well as the shipyards that make nearly all of Earths ships. One of the most populated space stations outside of LEO, Collins Station is an essential part of the Earth Moon System.

Demographics

The population primarily lives in the 2 counter rotating O'Neill Cylinders, though a large portion live in the superstructure of these, many in smaller spinning habs of their own.

Governed directly from the UN, with nation status and a local council.

Defences

Standard PD anti-meteoroid systems, as well as the full force of the UNN. The shipyard has a few small rail cannons and torpedo systems, and can churn out torpedoes nearly as fast as they can fire them.

Industry & Trade

Essentially any service or good can be bought here. The close location to Earth, as well as the generally low dV cost to the rest of the system allow for reasonably cheap prices on everything from Kuiper Belt ice to Terran 20 year scotch.

Started construction in 2023 as the lunar gateway, was eventually moved to L4 and massively expanded

Architecture

Mostly constructed from steel with a lot of aluminium. From a distance you can only see the cylinders, but as you get closer you can see the tubular mess that is the station.

There is an elevator going down to Luna.
