Military action

One of the first UNW's official military actions takes place, and they sustain their first casualties.

An operation was mounted soon after the United Nation of Worlds was formalized, with their new capital planned, to further harm The Still Lady, and her forces.    Her main way of harassing the resistance on planet was through grav flyers, hunting in wolfpacks over the endless mushroom forests. Her air assets were collected at one base, and it was heavily defended.   A specialized kill team of Dax, Billy, Desmond, and Regulus led a team of rebels to the airbase to cause as much damage as possible.   The control tower was attacked, and several hangars were burned as rockets were launched at chemical storage. As the kill team withdrew, a Myrmidon shadow, an aspect of The Still Lady's rage materialized.   Regulus risked much to try to bond with it, and gain insights into the eaten goddesses mind, and was brought to his knees by psionic backlash.   The shadow wasted no time, and dispatched the academy head with a burst of archaeotech machine gun fire.   The beast was killed by the others, and Regulus' body was returned home. It is said he occasionally emerges from metaspace to guide others, now able to discern her plans.
