Suha

  • Temperate Biosphere
  • Tens of Millions of Inhabitants
  • Tech Level- TL4
The locals are obsessed with completing a massive project, one that has consumed them for generations. It might be the completion of a functioning spaceyard, a massive solar power array, a network of terraforming engines, or the universal conversion of their neighbors to their own faith. The purpose of their entire civilization is to progress and some day complete the work. The Red Horizon Singularity Gun would be fired once, during what is now known as the Day of Thunder. The planet killing weapon was used to destroy the Fleshsaper Homeworld of Goizane in a powerful decapitating strike. Further shells are prohibitively expensive and experts are not sure how many more of the shells the Greystar Confederation has in their arsenal.   This world's populace has a burning hatred for the inhabitants of the Leda system, believing the pacifists there turned their backs when Remnant occupation forces took the Suhan fleet for wars elsewhere. As a condition for being the first planet after Acastus to join the Greystar Confederation, they were forced to sign and abide by an official peace accord.   Suha is an enigma when it comes to local leadership. A smart mouthed Corporal Smokle visits and landing parties personally, and seems to enjoy taking charge when off worlders land on what may or may not be his planet. The man has been a staunch Confederation ally, and on more than one occasion has led local forces alongside Greystar troops, most notably against the separatists living in the Ruins of Riven, in what was one of the largest ground conflicts the planet had ever seen.   In March 2669 the Aiya Tech construction project reached its end - setting up roads, bridges, domestic airports and other methods of high speed transit across the planet's surface. The transportation support project was so large in scope many officials called it a 'megaproject'. Its completion brings a new era of optimism and hope to the Suhan people who now believe more than ever joining the Confederation was the best possible path forward.    Hidden among all that construction was one final task- bringing the Red Horizon Singularity Gun into deep space within the system, where it could be fired more frequently if needed with far less mechanical strain. The shells are still monstrously expensive to produce. This work was completed in January 2670. On the ground, the footing of the enormous tower still remains. The locals are looking to find some new purpose for the remains of their impressive work.

Transportation Support Mega Project

Suha has a completed Transportation Support project, allowing the 200km hexes on this world to be crossed in half the time thanks to the established network of roads, bridges, canals, and mass transit.

Ruins of Riven

The ruins of Riven were once a place where a separitist movement took refuge from the world government of Suha. Director Kensh and two divisions of Greystar soldiers fought bitterly here to oust the rebels, and stayed to clean up the radiation from the city ruins after.   In December 2669 after a large influx of resources and colonists from other worlds, the Greystar Confederation was able to construct a functioning settlement here, and are expecting it to grow as more worlds are evacuated and the native population of Suha grows. As of early 2670 the first wave of pioneers has arrived in the city, and have begun life anew.

Iylandwatch

Iylandwatch is a large city with tens of thousands of inhabitants bordering the southern Suha sea. The settlement consists of equal parts streets and canals as its inhabitants live and work in the main city itself, and satellite resource collection points on the islands close to the coast. White brickwork and brightly painted roofs are the defining features of this terraced city. This city is also known for having some of the best seafood in the Greystar Confederation. An airport and a dock are the main improvements to the city since Greystar took up the mantle of governing the planet and its people.

Steelhearth

Steelhearth is a large settlement tucked in a resource rich area of Suha. Most of the non-agricultural manufacturing is based in the city. Metals from the nearby mountains, and timber from the brilliantly colored forests around the city are turned into both practical and decorate goods for the people of Suha. The locals here live their lives around the three factory ships running during the day- telling time similarly to those on Acastus. These mighty factories each house tens of thousands of workers and are situated on the outsides of the city, cloistering the residential buildings and parks within. Rail lines run across the countryside to the city from both the mountains and the woods. A large dock yard once brought finished goods across the sea to a facility on the other side- where they would be transported to the Red Horizon Singularity Gun. With the gun now in orbit, the facility has been closed.

Spokekhain

Spokekhain is a city of medium size located on the planet's northern hemisphere. The city is highly militarized in a tradition that spans back to when the military here had to protect both the northern flank of the ground based Suha gun , and keep watch on the countryside for separatists who once made their homes in the ruins of Riven. In addition to the large garrison, the city is also home to The Maze, the highest security prison on the planet, and possibly in Greystar space. The city is lightly industrialized to support the civilian and military presence here, but is still reliant on imports of raw materials from the wealthier southern regions of the planet.

Merceria

Merceria is a large settlement bordering the coast to the west of the former site of Red Horizon. The city presides over a channel with highlands to the east and over a swampy and heavily forested bog to the west. Unlike other settlements on this world, the city is walled and a handful of large farms mostly run by private farmers with fleets of drones have their properties clinging to the city walls like barnacles.   A wall of trees 10km from the city walls herald the transition to the swamplands beyond and a fire watch tower every 5km pokes above the trees. In addition to sensor equipment these towers are also armed- as raiders from Riven once swept down and made the dangerous trek to raid whatever materials they could from these lands. Although the raiders are gone now, the weapon emplacements remain.   Logging, forestry, and farming are the main industries of the city, and the first stage of an ambitiously long bridge leading to the eastern landmass is under construction, commissioned privately by city leadership partnered with several wealthy companies and families from across the planet.
