Rawhani Blue Species in Iron Stars | World Anvil

Rawhani Blue

The Rawhani blue is a large serpent like creature first documented by Gurk Samson and Barnabas Strasny during a fishing expedition on the seas of the wasteland planet. It ranges between five and eight meters long though there are rumors that some of the eldest of this long lived species are longer than twenty meters.   The creature prefers to burrow into the sediment at the bottom of whatever body of water it occupies. Most of its energy is spend in hiding its own heat signature, and it strikes from these burrowed ambush positions to devour passing fish, crustaceans, and anything else that might be a significant source of proteins. It has a very efficient digestive system and the observed specimen of this creature does not seem to excrete any kind of waste product at all.   The creature does not seem to strike at anything bigger than itself.   Specialized vent like openings in the skin help the creature hide its heat from predators and prey alike.   It reproduces by laying clutches of eggs to be fertilized, and a typical clutch is between ten and fifty depending on the size of the mother.
