Aerylnaër Alelynsalor

Aerylnaër Gwinlaith Elerrína Alelynsalor (a.k.a. Altáriel)

Aerylnaër Gwinlaith Elerrína Alelynsalor, also known as Altáriel is the lost child of Elven Princess Aerith of Evalin and the last surviving member of the Alelynsalor bloodline. Within the past two centuries, she is revered in many stories and songs as a legendary hero. An elven prophecy, claims that she is "The Promised One".   Despite her mother's royal heritage, Aerylnaër is not considered a Princess or in line to the Hinaraiin Throne. Despite later inheriting the Castle Almeria of Evalin, she didn't inherit the land which would have earned her the royal status due to Great Queen Misalria's mandates of succession. Evalin was instead later given to one of the Twin Princes sometime after Aerith's death in The War of The Weeping Ashes.

Aerith's Prophecy

She is tied to a prophecy that was first mentioned by Elven Arch-Priestess Zestari stating:
By summer’s windfire, the walking shadows shall rise.   If the heir to Aerith's vengeance, falls unto the darkness gone,   Her light shall born that of a hero, under the silver mountains,   And the promise shall break the world once more.

Arch-Priestess Zestari was famous in Kagayakiji for predicting events. Her fortunes had transfixed the minds of many schools to deepen their study around them. Several scholars and mages have interpreted the Windfire Prophecy differently.   Arch-Priestess Zestari had surmised that this prophecy revolves around Princess Aerith, that someone of her bloodline shall become "The Promised One" who will break the shackles from the world and usher in a new age. The nature of the prophecy wasn't entirely met with supportive eyes and some had wished to dismantle the prophecy, who believed that "The Promised One" may bring about a second calamity.   In 324 AE, Velethuil the Dread was believed to have been manipulated by a demi-god Marcella serving under Tempus. Who instructed him to murder Princess Aerith and her family in hopes of preventing the future calamity.   Arch-Priestess Zestari declared that the prophecy became self-fulfilling the moment Velethuil the Dread began his conquest.   Princess Aerith's childbirth was kept secret by the Hineraiin Kingdom and the child, named Aerylnaër was kept hidden to ensure her protection amidst the chaos of Velethuil the Dread's conquest, in what became known as the War of the Weeping Ashes. The war had resulted in the Hineraiin Kingdom's withdrawal from aiding the realms of men.   Velethuil was defeated in battle by Aravae Zylwarin in 331 AE. However, efforts to protect Aerylnaër had failed during the Fall of Nolindil. She had vanished and any hope of her survival drew thin amongst the Hineraiin Kingdom, no magic could locate her.   Arch-Priestess Zestari fled to the west for fear that her life was now endangered by the prospect of those who were looking for Aerylnaër as she believed it won't end with Velethuil's defeat.   Darker powers had now risen from the depths and the faith of a "The Promised One" began to fade into myth.
She talks of prophecies, a hero born to take revenge on Aerith's life, I have witnessed greater evil come to life that has come to pass with no one to hope of an end. Yet she no longer speaks the signs and has fled to the worlds beyond. What blood has been spilt is of our own, and no hero has come forth and our hope has been lost. Our Kingdom stands shattered, and we must retreat. I wish to believe in the prophecy that has been foretold, but I see no truth to it as we have failed.
— King Marlevaur of The Hineraiin Kingdom - 331 AE
It wasn't until 403 AE that rumours had spread of an elven adventurer "Altáriel". She had garnered the interest of the now isolated Hineraiin Kingdom through her endeavours in fighting in the Viriondal Uprising.   Many elves who had seen "Altáriel" described her as having unwavering, mesmerising beauty and those who had still believed in the prophecy hailed her as "Kallovëa", which means hero and is a term used in conjunction with "The Promised One".
In 426 AE, Altáriel's magical intellect far exceeded that of any wizard or sorceress in the Elven Kingdom. She was requested by the Elven Queen Nintha to pledge her allegiance to the crown with fears she could pose a threat to the realm.   Nintha had recognised her and had known immediately that this was Princess Aerith's lost daughter, Aerylnaër.   Altáriel accepted the pledge, and several mages had undertaken the responsibility to ascertain her heritage which had proven to be true. Word had reached that "The Promised One" had returned.   Being the last living heir of the Alelynsalor bloodline, she had inherited Castle Almeria of Evalin and became Queen Nintha's Champion. Altáriel went on to serve under the Kingdom for more than a century.

Founding of The Silver Arrows

In 554 AE, Aerylnaër became known as "The Silver Arrow" for her time as the Queen's Champion. She eventually disbanded her political ties with the Kingdom in hopes to attain further knowledge of the distant worlds and their many planes. She wanted to remain neutral and understood that many conflicts had plagued the other continents and set about to gather like-minded heroes under her lead to aid the world.   The name "The Silver Arrow" described Aerylnaër as a peacemaker for the Hineraiin Kingdom, with the white and silver representing that. The Arrow represents protection and defence from evil.   In 559 AE, Aerylnaër formed "The Silver Arrows", an adventuring guild of powerful heroes. It was founded together initially with members, Soleana Sylfina and Wevrur Bladefury. These founding members represent the three arrows that can be seen on the guild's crest.   Many songs and stories have attempted to document Aerylnaër's Journey and The Silver Arrows.   In "The Book of The Blue Maiden" written by Nimroot Bramble, he recounts many stories - one famous tale of the defeat of an undead dragon in which Aerylnaër had shattered reality and warped the lands beneath to pull the dragon into the depths, sealing it for eternity.   In the book, "The Evening Sunlight, Ode to Hammerfire" written by Tavia Heartbright. It tells the tale of a group of Halflings who had travelled Iromendia in search of wealth. They had met an elven woman of blue hair of tremendous power during their time in the Khalea Peninsula. They had been ambushed by a group of giant apes with no way of escape. It was described that eyes of light pierced through the veil of the jungle forests, the apes no longer wanted to hurt the group of halflings. It was mentioned that she had warded the group of halflings with protection against them, that if they were in danger - they would now help them instead of eating them. They never met the woman again but they never forgot the face. It's believed that this was likely the work of Aerylnaër.   Aerylnaër was formally referred to as The Queen of Arrows, at Soleana Sylfina's request. She had also requested each member of the guild be assigned a virtue to represent them. With Aerylnaër being the Arrow of Grace.   In 587 AE, Aerylnaër disbanded the guild following her desire to make personal amends and retire peacefully. Members of the guild remain scattered throughout Iromendia.   The whereabouts of Aerylnaër is currently unknown and she hasn't been seen for 15 years.
