Boryza
Boryza is an outpost on the southern border between the Iron Hills and the Wildlands. It is positioned at the peak of a small mountain, with high walls augmenting natural barriers to prevent access except through narrow trails to the north and the south. The road north leads back into the Iron Hills, providing a lifeline leading back to civilization, allowing supplies to be brought in, while the road south provides access to the Wildlands for visiting Archmagi with plans to perform a ritual of High Magic.
Nobody from Boryza has been seen in the last thirty-five years, primarily due to the Great War being fought in the region. Some assume that the outpost was wiped out, either by Chelestran forces or by some Wildland threat that overcame its small garrison, while others believe they have just kept their heads down and made the best of the fortifications at their disposal. Regardless, re-establishing contact is generally considered a low priority for the reconstruction efforts in the Iron Hills.
Demographics
Boryza is built to host a total of approximately 30-40 people at any one time. Its long term residents include a goat herder, a bee keeper, and a gardener who maintains a small collection of berry bushes, apple trees and a variety of vegetables, who combined provide a steady local supply of milk, cheese, honey, fruit and vegetables to themselves and the standing garrison, currently a group of seven semi-retired adventurers who keep watch over the place and largely keep to themselves.
The outpost also contains a small but comfortable keep where an Archmage and their entourage can make themselves comfortable, though if they require anything beyond the most basic hospitality, they are expected to bring their own serving staff. They are also expected to bring at least some of their own food - the Boryzans are happy to supplement visitors with fresh food, but there is not much of a surplus to go around.

Bees! Nice that it's longterm self-sufficient, except of course for when they need new tools. Of course if it's over 35 years since last rotation, the place will die out by old age eventually. o,o

Yeah, the region in question has been disturbed by a war that goes back quite a bit further than that, which kinda left them out in the cold because they're so remote. I haven't worked out what state the place will be in if/when people finally check in on it yet, but it's definitely not going to be totally fine.
