Mental characteristics

Personal history

Lucien Riess, came into ownership of Brierwell from his uncle after he passed with no living heirs to the Deeds. Lucien had little interest in spending his vast wealth on decadent showings of wealth as his predecessors did, spending most of his wealth expanding the Manor and creating a waterway through the mountains to open up access to the Ocean and port travel. Lucien was also curious as to the history of the Estate, spending long hours in the libraries, allowing his relatives and their friends to occupy the other parts of the Manor on the outskirts to enjoy themselves and leave him alone with his thoughts. As the years droned on, Lucien began to make more questionable decisions, sentencing his inner circle to Mistmire estate or having them executed outright as he hired excavators and miners to some unseen purpose deep in the heart of the Manor. without the Lord of the Manor keeping the estates infrastructure intact, the parties of his family slowly took their toll on the grounds, and the surrounding village that supported them. When news came that Mistmire Citadel had been seized by Niko Von Krohl most of the craftsmen fled with their earnings leaving the nobles to their fate. while some of the nobles attempted to flee many opted to stay, and have yet to be heard from since. Lucien himself had been absent for quite some time, and his fate remains a mystery.

Education

Lucien was tutored by elves, dwarves, and human masters in their craft, an expensive education from a wealthy family. Lucien spent most of his years as lord of the manor expanding his knowledge as he delved deeper into the library of the estate previously kept from him.

Employment

Lucien came into ownership of the estate early in his life, before his 20th winter.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Lucien accomplished very little in his tenure as lord of the estate, where as other owners would expand the grounds, or erect statues or most often have wild and endless parties, galas, and gatherings Lucien had a water causeway opened to the stormsea through the caves nearby in the mountains. While this did allow for more readily accessible supplies, it was hardly the extravagant addition many expected.

Failures & Embarrassments

Lucien's plan to banish his inner circle to Mistmire backfired, and led to the source of the Estates great wealth to be taken from them and the ruin of the estate.

Mental Trauma

Lucien was a cold and calculating man, not overly friendly but not rude either. he seemed distant most of the time, though had a curious nature that would often lead him to conversation, even if he clearly had no taste for it.

Intellectual Characteristics

Lucien was a bright mind among a sea of dullards and spoiled children, always curious and interested in the world around him even before he became lord of the estate. After ownership of the Estate was passed to Lucien, he spent years combing through the libraries of Brierwell searching for something he refused to share with others.

Morality & Philosophy

Lucien had little interest in socializing or politics, allowing his other family members to rule in his stead more or less while he spent the vast majority of the Estates wealth on a Water Causeway and excavators into the manors heart. Though Lucien did enjoy some of these parties when he was younger, as time passed he found the decadence of flesh and wine less appealing.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Lucien seemed hell bent on uncovering the history and truth of Brierwell Estate and the Manor itself.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Lucien was an awkward speaker, though he eased up a bit after hunting he never seemed at peace surrounded by the decadence as the rest of his family was.

Likes & Dislikes

Lucien had a love of hunting, crafting a number of fine hunting bows, crossbows, and rifles with aid from his tutors and close friends. Lucien disliked spending too much time in the Manor, though this was overcome by his intense curiosity of the place once he became a Lord, and it became his escape from the lavish parties his family enjoyed.

Social

Hobbies & Pets

Lucien had a hunting hound that passed after 14 years of hunting, and a Raven that kept him company throughout long nights of study.

Wealth & Financial state

Brierwell estate boasted a near inexhaustible sum of money from their Mystrium Mine further south under Mistmire Citadel. Once this was taken from them by Baron Niko Von Krohl the influx of money faded and all that remained were well crafted baubles and trinket. Many of these were stolen during the panic that lead to the abandonment of the village and most of the Manor, though a great sum of wealth most likely still remains from generations of avarice and boredom.
