History
As the Gnomes researched the Quickening, many attempted to instead cure themselves of the ailment in a similar fashion to the Giants and their Curse of Stone. Transmutation magic that powerful had been lost for an age however. with some recklessly clever ingenuiety some Gnomes theorized that infusions of Chaos could assist the transmutation. many died attempting to summon Demons and more still when they used the Black Ichor in their experiments. eventually however this research team encountered an Orc Tribe, one that didn't seem interested in hunting them for sport. after a time the then Gnomes and Orcs became friends and eventually they offered some of their Blood for the experiments. These were the earliest Goblins. Gnomes and Goblins were immediately at odds, as the Goblins vouched for the success of their treatment, many impatient Gnomes would leap at the opportunity to be rid of the Quickening. It wasn't until a short time latter however, that the psychological effects of the Transmutation became apparent, and the violent nature of the Goblins came to reveal itself. The Goblin Communities attacked and killed a good number of Gnome, Dwarven, and even Elven settlements. The attack was uncoordinated and was immediately repelled, though when the enemy forces swept through the Goblin communities to flush them out they were met by countless traps and ambushes. Removing the Goblins from their homes took years, and many lives but eventually the Goblins were purged further into the Deep Caverns. Over the Centuries Goblins have mingled with Orc tribes, lending their knowledge to the larger warriors to forge clans that would strike out to the surface. Goblins exist now in most parts of the world, as dangerous vermin to some, tinker masterminds to others. Many Goblins remain with Orc Tribes who teach them to harness their Blood Rage, or the Gift of One Eye as they call it.
Historical Figures
Zrenk was a Goblin who helped to arm his Orc allies with the scraps they retrieved from pillaged villages and cities. as the horde grew in size however, Zrenk was unable to keep up with the demand and was killed, soon after the Horde faltered as the Goblins following Zrenk abandoned the Orcs.
Common Myths and Legends
Many Goblins tell tale of a silver armored berserker who hunts down Goblins with violent efficiency, even to the point of decimating entire areas surrounding a Goblin Nest while howling the name of its prey to the sky.
