Gate of Heavenly Stars
a massive bridge and seagate constructed by Argantian Dwarves and Sya'Nau Elves in an attempt to contain the Bay of Ashes anomalies.
Purpose / Function
the original purpose was to bridge the gap between Ravan and Argantus to provide more immediate support and trade between regions, however as the Bay of Ashes grew more volatile it was givin another purpose to contain the potentially dangerous creatures within, and keep other animals from wandering inside to become mutated as well.
Alterations
shortly after its construction in 10,258, the bridge was refittted with a massive sea gate to allow fleets of ships to pass into the Bay of Ashes to hunt the Anomalies as they became more dangerous and threatened the nearby towns. these alterations took another 16 years to complete.
Architecture
the Gate is primarily of dwarven design though many elves aided in its construction they focused on forming the base of the gate, where it was most difficult to mine and haul stone. instead the elves simply used their magic to guide segments of rock from the seafloor to act as pillars.
History
the gate was finished in 10,258 year of the guidless star, designed with the intentions of briding the gap between Ravan and Argantus, as many dwarves wish to see the Dark Elves and Voss empire pushed back. shortly after construction began however, it became apparent that the nearby Bay of Ashes would pose a significant threat to traveling merchants, artisans, and armies so a permanent military presence was posted to safeguard the gate and surrounding areas.
