Holy Prophet Sancti Peregrinus XVI
The highest-ranking mortal in the Communion of the Nine, the Holy Prophet Sancti Peregrinus XVI is the conduit of the Ascended God's will across Iqos. He convenes with them at The Summit, in the Red Room where the Divine Thrones sit.
His reign has seen a great focus on the Tenet of Purity, one of the Dual Tenets of Faith, and the re-militarization of the faith. A charismatic icon, he was the youngest Holy Prophet for centuries, and has inspired a resurrection in the martial, extremist wing of the faith which had been in decline throughout the 14th era.

Personal history
As a young boy from Sutton, a small village near Beohill, the Holy Prophet- at the time called Asher- was kidnapped by Kuo Toa, and saved by folk hero Garwyn the Gallant and a Goliath, Ironside. After his rescue, he was taken to the Crimson Cathedral in Beohill, starting as an Apostle, where he became a devout youth of the faith, and fell strongly into the martial wing of the Church, which has a strong tradition in the South-East of Iqos, due to its constant clashes with the Orcish Badlands.
After a brief spell as a priest, he was earmarked for his significant potential due to his fervour and dedication, and the martial wing of the Church appointed him as a Righteous Zealot years before the typical appointment age. As a Righteous Zealot, he played a crucial role in the prevention of the unleashing of an ancient demonic general and his army onto the Ash Plains, with the weeding out a complex conspiracy in Whitebridge, and the successful defeat of the demonic army on the foot of the Dead Mountain, Mount Ashstorm.
While a major success for both the Church and his military wing of the faith, the Speaker of Ados- the God of War and Victory- perished on the battlefield, and Ados named Asher as his replacement.
Just years later, the peace-focused Holy Prophet Sancti Benignus III passed away unexpectedly, and the resurgent martial-oriented wing of the Church was clearly the growing and dominant force within the faith. After a short Council of Speakers, the Speaker of Ados was chosen, and he took the name Sancti Peregrinus XVI.
Morality & Philosophy
The Holy Prophet's religious dogma effectively stems from the Tenet of Faith, Purity.
Purity has had numerous interpretations by the faith throughout the eras, but the doctrine espoused by the Holy Prophet has re-occured throughout history and was especially prevalent during the Azog Crusades.
As is typical for a member of the faith, he has a strong, hardline view against Old God influence. However, the Holy Prophet includes a racial component, and is a vocal detractor of reconciliation with the Orcs, and has views against the ability of numerous races to join the faith and has imposed limitations on near-human races within the faith.
He believes that the Gods themselves favour humans, and that this must be reflected in the faith and worship of them- no non-human has ever been one of the Nine. Often, older races have murky histories of siding with the Old Gods in the Great Culling, and the Orcs were explicitly made by an Old God. As such, in his view, the tenet of purity also extends to race.

Elves, Dwarves, Halflings- even strange races like the Giff or the odd Abeil people- are all welcome here, and can worship before the Ascended Gods or the Divine Nine. But it is important for all to remember what race every Ascended God has been... there are some races that are not welcome. That will never be welcome. The greedy people of the Kenku... the disgusting walking rats... those races tainted by the ambonations that are the Old Gods, such as the Yuan-ti. Above all, the Orcs are a cruel vermin that are incompatible with the world we strive to create. Whether it takes 50 years or 50,000 years, we will purge this world to purity.
