Maz Ticca

Maz Ticca is a town within The Kodazar Hegemony. Governed by tabaxi, it was once the capital of the largest empire in Iorobush, The Empire of Maz Ticca. The town has an estimated population of 75,851 residents, in an area of approximately 261 acres. The town's main industry is garment making, particularly producing uniforms for the Kodazar military.

History

The area in which the town of Maz Ticca now occupies was once little more than a clearing in the jungle which dominated much of the island. Within this clearing, a large stone pillar was located. When the shaman Preexa ventured to this clearing, the pillar transformed into an avatar of the god Zaltec, patron god of the tabaxi. Preexa brought his clan to the site, and began the construction of an enormous ziggurat dedicated to the god, with the pillar being elevated to be visible all across the island. Construction of the ziggurat took decades, with Preexa's clan steadily growing. Their numbers grew so large that their village expanded into the size of a small town.
When Preexa's grandson Ronzu united the clans and brought them to the site of the Grand Ziggurat, the town continued to expand, making accommodations for these new arrivals. The homes of Ronzu's tribe, scattered before the Grand Ziggurat, gained a perimeter wall which set them apart from the rest of the clans. The women of the tribes continued to grow the town, while the men sailed off in search of more clans.
Under the rule of Ronzu III, the town continued to expand. The clan houses built around the Grand Ziggurat were expanded upon into apartments, and due to the town being the capital of the empire, trade halls were constructed to conduct the flow of trade through the capital.
The town saw widespread destruction when it was attacked by the forces led by Badak the Benevolent. Not wanting the town to fully succumb to this invading force, Hafess, Divine Emperor of the time, bowed to Badak's demands.
