The Embrace of the Bleeding Sun

Divine Origins

Forged out of decades of mutual trust and cooperation, the Embrace of the Bleeding Sun is perhaps the youngest organized religion in the world. By the time of the organizations merging elements of each one's hierarchy had already begun to bleed into one another. So when Chosen of Telsin Sarqinor and Chosen of Ylros Urdav publicly announced that the religions would be merging, at the behest of their gods, it was not very surprising to most.
Despite the Chosen of both gods saying this, many of the far southern Telsites disagreed with this move, and have remained wholly devoted to Telsin. This has repeated caused great friction between the two organizations, with them occasionally coming to blows of disagreements in worship.

Cosmological Views

The Embrace of the Bleeding Sun teaches its followers that, like the other Primal Gods, Telsin and Ylros were once separate from the mortal plane. When they came to the plane and attached themselves to it, they worked with the other Primals to reshape it into Ioral, the current world. During this reshaping, Telsin would become the sun and provide holy light all across the world, while Ylros would work alongside Yemar and create all life.

Worship

Every Thiraur, the last day of the week, worshipers are encouraged to meet at their local temple or church for communal worship. These sermons tend to last only an hour or so, mostly to reaffirm the people's faith and to recount parables from the distant past. On the daily, a small prayer at dawn and dusk to Telsin and a third one just before bed at night to Ylros are commonplace.

Priesthood

Members of the Clergy under the Bleeding Sun are known as the Embraced, and generally fall under one of three categories. First are the Vishar, local leaders of worship in towns and villages, considered to be the lowest of the Clergy. Then come the Eshar, regional leaders centered in regional capitals, the Eshar lead their city's worship but also manage the various Vishar within their region. Finally, there is the Folshar, a small council of senior Vishar that dictate the moves of the whole religion.
All Embraced share a constantly open wound that bleeds ceaselessly, having to be bandaged with blessed cloth. The blood from these wounds are not their own, but Ylros's, which can be used to alleviate illnesses, curses and bless individuals. Embraced also often have their eyes become golden in colour that softly glow, a gift from Telsin. They tend to wear simple robes of Gold and Maroon, with the symbol of the faith stitched onto their backs.
