Arcane Circuits
Utility
Originally discovered by Imperial Enchanters during the Late Sun Empire as enchantments continued to get more and more complicated. By adding in additional 'pathways' to the enchantment between runes, and by adding in new transformative runes around the basic runes or connected to basic runes by pathways, new effects could be created. This has allowed for much more complicated enchantments and even rudimentary intelligence to be created in automatons.
Due to the fine engravings required to create such items, most larger machines that use Arcane Circuits often rely on interconnected circuits with larger runes on each, for cheaper construction and replacement. Efforts to develop Rune 'stamps' to make miniaturization of these larger circuits more economical are ongoing, though the most recent leap in that direction has come in the form of 3-Dimensional Circuits, developed by Grimoire of the Charter for their LOTUS communication device. This 3D design initially requires traditional circuits to be made but, through a ritual, they can be translated into a specialized Khor Stone where they are arrayed in a 3D environment and connected as per the ritual.

Manufacturing
The hexagonal circuits are constructed out of a Brass-Mithril alloy, with the various transformative and pathway runes placed before any other. These are engraved into the circuits, with connection ports on each face so that they can be connected to other circuits for much more complex enchantments. This particular alloy is utilized due to its dual nature, as when it is first created it is soft and malleable like brass, though if it undergoes a particular process it becomes more ridged like mithril, making the production cheaper while also allowing for each circuit to be more robust.
Social Impact
Since Arcane Circuits have been discovered many items have been created by Enchanters for people, such as RAC devices, Utility Gloves, transformative weaponry, Elemental Reactive Armour, Arcane Suspension, Bespoke Saddles, Ovens, Fridges and many more. This has transformed many industries across the world, allowing for goods to be transported further, safer, and in larger quantities.
