Fragments of Rancor
Tales tell of a set of powerful artefacts of unknown origin that lie somewhere in the world. Many believe that they are merely fairy tales, told to children to get them excited and perhaps intrigued with the ideas of adventure. However, some do believe in these items. In the power they wield and the valiant heroes who once wielded them. Whether either is correct is unknown, for these Fragments have never been located. Or at least, they have not had any public attention drawn to them.
Summary
The Fragments of Rancor are referenced in broken remnants of history which speak of battles between the Divines and Primordials. It is said that in the Sacred Cataclysm, both the Primordials and the Divines sought out mortals to wield artefacts of powers to combat the tide of death that their adversaries harnessed. In the newly created Iontas and the multiverse at large, magic abounded in everything, but in its raw state it was too dangerous for mortals to use. Thus the Divines and Primordials crafted weapons out of the raw magic that flowed across the world, granting them to mortal champions as a conduit for power so they could compete in the Sacred Cataclysm.
In contrast, the Remnants of Entropy are ancient and powerful sentient weapons created by eight of the Traitor Gods before and during the Cataclysm. Each artifact was created using the bound lifeforce of a greater fiend and was given to a champion of these gods. The weapons became scattered across Iontas after the Cataclysm and many have never been found since.
