Iontas
2709 M.E
Nearly three millennia ago, the Divines struck down those that shook the skies and cracked the earth, and they left this world forever, marking the end of the Divine Epoch and the Sacred Cataclysm that had seen so much destruction and death. The beings that had walked alongside their children for aeons chose instead to watch from afar, stepping into the heavens above whilst the traitors were banished into the pits below. And as they left this world, they became even more, ascending to become almighty gods, offering guidance and power to those that gave them their hearts. These gods trusted their followers to rebuild the world, to reforge it in the way that mortals truly wished, free from the will of those that loved them.
But instead came oppression. With a roar that shook the hearts of all upon Iontas, the infernal greatwyrm remembered only as "The Sanguine Calamity" ushered in a thousand year tyranny under the shadow of his burning wings. Those that resisted were utterly destroyed, cast into the winds by the Chromatic dragons that now ruled under his banner. For over a thousand years, dragons ruled the world until the celestial greatwyrm, Miirym the Aspect of Meine, created the Silver Alliance. Truly incredible mortals and metallic dragons united together under her banner and declared war on the Draconic Empire, beginning the Great War for Iontas. This war culminated with the sealing of the Calamity by the Arcane Triumvirate and the victory of the Silver Alliance, but not without heavy losses on the side of the alliance. But finally, mortals were free from oppression.
The continents of Iontas grew quite separate after this war, each finding their own ways. The great craftsmanship of the Divine Epoch was lost to time, and magical practitioners became rarer as mortals were finally able to focus on their day to day lives, but many still had grand dreams that they were able to pursue without the tyrannical rule of chromatics. For nearly two thousand years, the continents lay separate and governed themselves.
That was until the sealed god, Feallor the Eldritch Ruin, was freed from his bonds and split the sun of Iontas in two and ripped a portal to Voidharrow open in the sky, opening abyssal portals across the land in an event known as the Voidharrow Calamity. This calamity, taking place over a mere two weeks, was ended when The Dawn Crusaders banished Feallor into Voidharrow itself. But alas despite their heroics over one third of all life on Iontas was extinguished. And yet even after this, the world did not know peace for the terror of the Sanguine Calamity was known once more as he too was unleashed from his seal and wrought havoc before being lulled into slumber within a volcano by a group of exceptional archmages, who cast his name from history and struck it from all records. Now, the world of Iontas finds itself trying to rebuild itself following yet another devastating cataclysm and as the wheel of ages turns once more, the people of this planet wonder what next faces this scarred world.
