Chekala

Chekala are a race of beastfolk, most commonly found in the western parts of Erania, primarily Teaphala but also Tenothan and northwestern Vistridale. They are recognizable by their goat-like heads, as well as some other caprine traits, like their ability to leap a good distance. Chekala also have a reputation for aptitude with Windcraft, though this is mostly due to their concentrated distribution in Teaphala, where Windcraft is such an integral part of society. Features and Traits
Age. Chekala reach maturity about the same time as humans do, but they can live about 150 years.   Alignment. Most Chekala, particularly those from Teaphala, tend to have a neutral alignment, although the unpredictable and whimsical nature of Windcraft sometimes gives them a bit of a chaotic bent. They generally tend toward good, however.   Size. Chekala are generally of a size with smaller humans, averaging between 5-5½ feet tall and weighing about 120 lbs. Your size is Medium.   Horns. Your horns are natural melee weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.   Caprine Leap. As a bonus action, you can jump a number of feet equal to four times your proficiency bonus without provoking attacks of opportunity. You can use this trait only if your speed is greater than 0 and your level of exhaustion is less than 3. You can use it a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.   Basic Air Conduction. You know the Mage Hand cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can use it without the need for any verbal component. When you reach the 5th level, you can use it without the need for any verbal or somatic component. When you reach the 8th level, your mage hand is capable of carrying 30 pounds, though it still cannot attack or activate magic items.   Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, Ikirthan, and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for your character.

A chekala man in Teaphali garb, using Windcraft to conjure a simple flame. Efeod Lamplighters use Windcraft like this to light the streetlamps in the city every evening. It is considered a position of honor.
