Jovian Conflict of 2687
The Jovian Conflict of 2687, also known as the Jovian War for Independence, or Jovian Civil War, was a military campaign between the Jovian moons of Jupiter and Saturn: Europa, Io, Titan, Ganymede, and Enceladus. Though the conflict initially stayed between the warring colonies, it soon grew large enough that the United Space Command became involved, which in turned escalated the violence. In the end, the United Space Command was victorious, however, the United Nations Federation agreed to recognize Io, Titan and Europa as independent colonies.
However, due to their significant roles in agriculture and industry, Ganymede and Enceladus were unable to obtain complete independence. Instead, they remained as colonies under the United Nations Federation's governance, but granted them more autonomy in their governance, allowing them to have greater control over their affairs.
