Veil

Wenway - Veil Kantva Mor xi Maaron

Physical Description

Body Features

Silver skin tone, with a few small oean covering her shoulders, with one on each knee, outside side of the thighs, and tops of both feet and hands. Her elbows sharpen outward and curve back towards the back of the forearm in a similar structure to the black oean, but they appear to be made out of muscle instead of a bone-like material. Her feet are about 17 inches long, and end in three claw-like toes. Her fingers are also claw-like, but can change their own texture to be soft, and are rather thin compared to other Viniktarians.

Facial Features

Veil has 5 eyes on her face, 4 of which are stacked in rows of two on top of one another, with the last eye being placed directly on the center of the forehead. Her bottom-most set of eyes are the most expressive, with the middle set being rather thin and narrow, and often appear to be glaring even if she's happy. Her "cyclops" eye is the largest, but is often covered by her bangs. Veil has rather plump lips, and her head shape is classified as an inverted triangle. Like many other Viniktarians with three rows of eyes, her skull is a bit larger than most by a few centimeters.

Identifying Characteristics

Her hair, which is cut in a choppy fashion at many different lengths, is her most dignified feature. The unique hairstyle often attracts attention, but ultimately this is consequence of many fights which result in her hair being trimmed and ripped. The only reason the cuts appear calculated and clean, is that the finalized hairstyle is the result of her balancing out the tattered ends after a brawl.

Special abilities

Possessing the Deep Blue Core, Veil's specific ability is manipulation of water and and most liquids. This can be as minor as spilling a glass of water from the other side of the room, or as major as manipulating the tides. While this is her strongest skill, being that she was trained in using basic Core Abilities, Veil is also able to do the following:   •Bond her soul to weaker souls •Hypnotize those with weaker cores for a small amount of time •Clog small areas with liquid, or drain liquid from the surrounding area •Telekinesis

Apparel & Accessories

Like many other Viniktarians of her status, Veil wears a variety of loose, thin fabrics with armor, in order to protect herself and stay incredibly mobile. All in all, long flowing sleeves and even longer skirts are almost always worn by Veil.

Specialized Equipment

Veil's signature weapon is a 10 foot long blue axe. It's handle, the bottom foot of it, has a small support beam creating the illusion of the cross, in order for support while handling the large weapon. It is colored a dark navy, and has a reflective quality to it.

Personal history

Veil was born to Erouni Kantva Ernu xi Maaron and Kskna Kan Eo xi Maaron, two Viniktarians who thrived on business in tourism in Thair. Veil is the youngest of two siblings, though she has not maintained direct contact with them since her integration into the Viniktarian military. While the direct reason is never specified, it is implied that they disagreed with her choice to leave the family business.   As a child, Veil was accepted into the Elekaairkii Federation, and became acquainted with many notable figures. She was a childhood friend of Dielkaire, Terra, and especially Nova. In Nova's case, it was long rumored that the young Quailar had a crush on Veil, but nothing ever came of this.   She was finally accepted (after two rejections) into the Wenway training program in the year 103,476,307, when she was equivalent of 8,520 human years old. Compared to other Wenway of her class, she was integrated rather early, as most Viniktarians usually wait another 1,000 years. Originally, her smaller stature and younger mindset was a bit of a drawback, but through the mentor-ship of the then-Shkta Wenway, Jakartha Meine Vro xi Aurocackt, she was able to pass her peers in skill, strategy, and strength.   Veil's first time on the battlefield was during the Battle for Xxien-7 during the Red War for Viniktarian control over the planet Borke. Her contribution helped the Viniktarian Military seize control of the region, and she continued to assist in the war effort as a Wenway in training until 103,476,473. Midway through the war, she was promoted to Wenway, and concluded her training. Still, she was placed in Jakartha's sector along with a few other hand-picked Wenway graduates.   During the last battle of the Red War known as The Final Siege of Borke in 103,476,502, Jakartha fell in battle by the hand of the last-remaining Borken forces in the capitol city of Eker D'Vka. Veil's influence over her squad ultimately contributed to the battle falling in favor of the Viniktarians, and she was able to coordinate the sector effectively even after Jakartha's sudden demise. Because of this fact, Veil was promoted as the new Shkta Wenway by vote of the Xiev Xousen and Quailarian Ankorra. In all of the Viniktarian Military's history, Veil is the youngest Viniktarian ever promoted to the prestigious position.   Since becoming the Shkta Wenway, Veil has successfully led the Empire against other nations, and has been continuously pursuing the capture of Borken War-Lords who attempt treason against the Empire and its parties. Her supervision has made it so that Erok's forces have not killed more of her people, and despite the fact that it appears like the Viniktarians are losing this war, public opinion of her is still high1.   Veil became romantically involved with Dielkaire a few Earth-decades after he was crowned the 14th Quailarian. Not much is known about their romantic history, being that it is taboo for the press to talk much about any relationship that has to do with the Quailarian or Quailaria. According to Dielkaire's brothers, Veil became re-acquainted with Dielkaire during her 4,190th birthday party (equivalent of 10,477 human years of age). While the Quailarian was not exactly fond of attending such parties of those in his social-class, being that he had a war on his hands, he made time to seek out Veil and coincidentally spawn a new relationship with her in the coming years.   Only recently has their relationship gone south, however. Due to Dielkaire's "Will I, Won't I" mentality towards enslaving the Humans, Veil ended the relationship despite planning on marrying the Quailarian in the near-future. It became evident that their ideals of morality had become conflicted and contorted in different directions based on their different positions within the Viniktarian Empire. Surprisingly, both Viniktarians appeared to move on from the relationship rather quickly.

Education

Private Education provided by the Elekeairkii Federation. Afterwards she was trained by the Viniktarian Military in order to become a Wenway.

Employment

As a Wenway, Veil's job is to maintain security on Viniktaria and all of the Empire's territories, as well as lead any charge into war. She is the direct leader in combat, though she answers to the entirety of the Warnawhily, so she does not have direct command over who to attack and why. Instead, she leads soldiers directly on the battlefield, while putting her life on the line as well.   Veil specifically is known as the current living Shkta Wenway, meaning that all other Wenway across the region answer to her command. This puts her in direct contact and consult with the Warnawhily and the great Emperor himself, the Quailarian.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Veil's most notable achievement was her contribution to annexing the Borkens into the Vinikarian Empire during the Red War, while she was a particularly new Wenway. Her significant contributions towards keeping the peace while firmly insisting on Viniktarian succession was what led her to becoming the Shkta Wenway after the original holder passed during the war.

Failures & Embarrassments

Veil's failed engagement to Quailarian Dielkaire often is a point of embarrassment, though she is still glad she did not go through with it. Ultimately, any sort of failed relationship is considered a considerable failure within the culture, even though Veil knew that Dielkaire was ultimately not a healthy person to be with. Luckily, their relationship was never publicized to the public due to tradition, saving her the shame.   She often blames herself for being unable to save her mentor, Jakartha, from the wrath of the Borken-enemy during the last confrontation in the Red War. While being a Wenway is a dangerous position, one that often ends in premature death, Veil can't simply let his death go due to the fact that the war was almost over. Veil can often be found having a picnic by or spending the day at Jakartha's grave.

Intellectual Characteristics

Logical, strategic

Morality & Philosophy

While not keen on the idea of war, Veil understands that sometimes it is necessary in order to bring about prosperity. Still, she often questions the Quailarian's use of conflict at present, and deeply regrets allowing her nation to become involved with taking on the Erok King.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Wants to protect her nation the best she can as a Wenway. While many Wenway are motivated by honor and glory, Veil's only desire is to serve her country fearlessly until her demise, and to satisfy the Xiev Xousen as their ultimate weapon.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Being that she has trained a good portion of her life in combat, she is as skilled as a Viniktarian can possibly get. Meanwhile, she does not understand much of the complex sciences that Viniktarians are infamous for, though she is intrigued by them.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes: Training new recruits, dining out, parties, sunsets, art, meditation, Nova, The Xiev Xousen   Dislikes: The direction her nation is headed, The Erok King, being defeated in battle, failing a mission, Dielkaire, sour food

Virtues & Personality perks

For a Wenway, Veil is particularly patient and selective about her quarrels, which has often labeled her as the hardest Wenway to work with, considering that most Wenway of past would jump on any chance to attack anything. On the contrary, Veil's morals often have her questioning Dielkaire's tactics in war, seeing that he mostly fights to control others, rather than to defend his nation. This has often saved many soldiers from death, seeing as most other Wenway would run to conflict without a second thought.   She is also considerably forgiving and kind, for a Viniktarian soldier. Most are known to be brittle and harsh, even to companions, but Veil is rather kind and soft to all.

Vices & Personality flaws

As a Shkta Wenway, her life is considerably important given her role. However, Veil will often take risks that put her life in danger in order to save others of lower rank. While admirable by the Military's standards, most government officials have called her a reckless leader on many occasions.   Despite disagreeing with some of her superiors, Dielkaire included, she will serve them to the end. While admirable, others often comment on how she would serve a corrupt government if given the chance.

Social

Speech

Similar to other Viniktarians, Veil tends to over-pronounce consonants when she speaks in Earthen languages. Otherwise, her voice is awfully soft, light, and smooth.

History

Veil and Dielkaire were friends in their youth, being that they attended the same school. They lost touch as they grew up and went on different paths in life, but were re-acquainted during a party thrown in Veil's honor for her birthday. It is unknown why Dielkaire sought her out, seeing as he doesn't "do parties", but some suspect he was playing with the idea of what his descendants would be like. AKA, he was (rather prematurely) looking for a lover. Being that Veil was considered quite the catch, being that she is rather tall, strong, and at the height of her career, it's more than likely that Dielkaire pursued her simply because he was convinced she was the best person he could get with.   However, their relationship was initially a positive one. Veil and Dielkaire fell in love, and proceeded to have a happy relationship for a few centuries. Despite being rather cold and isolated from others, Veil was able to assist Dielkaire through some dark times, including when his parents abruptly passed away. However, the support wasn't always reciprocated. Veil often found herself calling on deaf ears whenever she needed help, and by the end of their relationship, they became bitter towards one another. Veil was too full of life, while Dielkaire was too commanding and calculating.   Now they simply work on a soldier-emperor relationship, though there is often an obvious tension between them, not just because of their past, but also due to their differences in war-related strategic opinion.

Nicknames & Petnames

Despite now despising she finds having to call him this, Veil is bound by law to refer to Dielkaire as her "Master", according to Military-Royalty customs. In order to be coy with her, Dielkaire will often call Veil "Vi Vi"

Commonalities & Shared Interests

They are both interested in the theory and strategy of war, though it is obvious that Veil is the more experienced of the two.

Shared Secrets

Unbeknownst to anyone else, Veil and Dielkaire did have a child together, however he was a still-born. This put much of a strain on their relationship, even before the child died due to the fact that Veil was pregnant before they had even declared the possibility of an engagement (a big taboo in Viniktarian culture). Towards the end of the pregnancy, Veil became depressed after coming to the self-realization that Dielkaire shouldn't be her husband. After the still-birth, Dielkaire continued with the Viniktarian tradition of Lvvrovein, the act of destroying the child's corpse by hand, despite Veil pleading that he wouldn't.

Shared Acquaintances

Ryokou, Orion, Superior, Nova, Terra, and Starr.

Wealth & Financial state

Because of her position and dedication to the Viniktarian Empire, Veil is paid handsomely. She lives a modest, yet lavish, lifestyle, though she is known as a top contributor to funds across the Empire.
1In Viniktarian culture, when a particular faction of the government is performing poorly, such as a Wenway, often times the individual is not blamed if they have a good track record. On the other hand, blame falls on the government such as the ruling Quailarian/Quailaria or the Xiev Xousen.
