Anas, the Vizier

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Tall and lithe. Slim shoulders, with a long neck.
Body Features
Olive-to-tanned skin tone. Jet black hair, and a full black beard.
Facial Features
Long face, thick eyebrows that are a little harsh. His beard is thick, and a little long. It takes up half his face. He has a small mouth, and a small smile. Sharp nose, high cheekbones. He's a severe looking man, which is at odds with his soft heart.
Special abilities
He does have magic, however. The malik knows this, of course, but he still insisted about the dagger. Sometimes intention doesn't come quick enough with magic. A dagger is much quicker. Anyway, Anas is pretty skilled with magic. He has an imbued necklace - a blue gem, hanging on a leather cord around his neck. That never leaves his person.
Apparel & Accessories
The garb of a vizier - long robes, mostly black, but with sashes of royal blue on either shoulder. His black kaffiyeh is always neatly kept in place with a royal blue corded rope around his head. His sleeves are long, and often cover his hands, as he clasps them against his stomach. The robe trails along behind him, and he takes cautious steps.
Specialized Equipment
The vizier is not given any weapons, as he is always accompanied by haris, whenever he leaves the palace walls. Inside the palace, there is no threat to him. Though Saleh once insisted he carry at least a small dagger, just in case, and he was so touched by the malik's apparent care for him, that he did it without another thought. So he has a small dagger tied to his calf. In case.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Anas comes from a family of nobility. He's always been wealthy, and his parents were always of high status. Anas met Saleh when they were in their early teens, Anas being a little younger than Saleh. He was the first, and only, friend of our current malik. He was also a little odd, and quiet, and he kinda liked the way Saleh looked. Plus he looked up to him. Also, sure, maybe it'd be cool to be friends with an amir! So, he stuck with him, and they became fast friends. Saleh was still quiet, and shy, but Anas took his lead, and followed along with whatever he wanted to do. He did like him as a friend, but he also just wanted that career progression. So he became Saleh's trusted adviser, and never left his side.

Employment
He was never employed in an actual job. But soon as Saleh became malik, he appointed Anas his vizier.
Mental Trauma
He doesn't have any. Except maybe harbouring an unrequited crush on his only friend, for decades. That's gotta be painful.
Intellectual Characteristics
A very clever man. His words are always considered, careful. He is logical, but he also leads with emotion sometimes. It isn't something he's too proud of - vizier's are meant to only use their heads. Saleh doesn't much care for emotion, either, so Anas tries to shut his heart up. Sometimes it just can't be helped. He loves music, especially the music played by the malik. He thinks it's the most beautiful music he's ever heard.

He likes his job, and he likes Saleh, and his life is great, so he's going to do whatever it takes to keep it that way.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Extremely clever. A little bit dense. Saleh is very sarcastic, and Anas sometimes doesn't catch the joke in his words. He's trying, though, ok?!
Likes & Dislikes
Loves to walk along the paths of the menagerie and gardens. Fills him with peace to know he is where he is, and nothing can change that. Enjoys a good feast. Likes spending time with Saleh most of all - he often challenges him to a game of backgammon or marbles or chess. To keep his malik's mind sharp. And to be close to him. Shh don't tell anyone. He also enjoys Zaria's company. He doesn't see her much, but when he does, she's always entertaining. He keeps away from the malika. Nothing against her, of course, but she did marry an amazing man, and she clearly doesn't appreciate him. Again, nothing against her. Except she's kinda mad, too.

Endearing. He may have a small smile, but when someone earns it, it makes them feel wonderful. It isn't given out freely. His emotions are always genuine. He is, genuinely, kind.
Vices & Personality flaws
Because he is an emotional person, he can get angry fairly quickly. His passion heats him up, and he can speak out of turn. Luckily his job is secure. Another malik would've had his head years ago.
Personality Quirks
His hands are always clasped together, covered by his sleeves, unless he's putting a hand to his heart in shock or affront. He does that a lot. Drums his fingers on his legs or the table when in meetings. It's almost a constant sound. People miss it when it's not there.

Contacts & Relations
He is famous all around the kingdom. He is in charge of the Palace Haris, and the al-Ilaj Force. He oversees many other operations as well - even with the farms and factories. People don't go to the malik, they go to him, and then he explains to the malik. He's made friends around the kingdom, from al-Madina to al-Ghani to al-Faqir to a-Jadar.
Family Ties
His parents, and sister - Ghasif, Cyla, and Injila - all live together in his house in al-Ghani. He spends most of his money on them, though Injila has her own income as well.
Social Aptitude
Quiet, calculating. Not extremely charismatic, but he has a quiet confidence. Isn't a pushover, but isn't stubborn either. He's polite, and courteous.
Mannerisms
Speaks slowly, calmly. Except when he's angry about something. Then his eyes become impassioned. His body never follows suit, however. It is always calm, collected.
Hobbies & Pets
Hates Buthyana, Saleh's cat. He knows she's more than that. But he doesn't like thinking about it.
Speech
"But, ya sayiddi..." He says that constantly. Because Saleh always makes sarcastic comments that he doesn't even mean, and Anas doesn't pick up on it quickly enough. Yes, even though they've known each other for thirty years.
Wealth & Financial state
Pretty much the second wealthiest person in the kingdom. He owns his own home in al-Ghani, though he prefers to stay in his room at al-Qasr. Because he is often needed immediately, and spends every day there anyway. He's wealthy, but doesn't spend excessively. He does give a lot in charity. His heart forces him to.
