Spiritbeings

Spiritbeings are magical creatures who wander a world between Inonna and Osturos. It was the spiritbeings who gave magic to humans after a man made a deal with a spiritbeing, which he won, granting him the power to convert his own spirit into magic. Sometimes they shift into our world and may offer a challenge and a reward to humans. The reward could be magic techniques, stronger magical powers or something else, like knowledge or a gift. There are specific spiritbeing from special animals or animals who accomplished some great things who are “worshipped” in different cultures. Caeluce is the most famous spiritbeing. Different spiritbeings are worshipped for different things.   In order to be able to do stronger magic, one might ask to serve a spiritbeing and loan its power. You can do this by challenging a spirit to a spiritchallenge. There is also another deal you can enter with a spiritbeing, namely a Totem Deal. This is where you commit your life to serving a spirit, and by doing so you are granted grand powers. Different groups have different ideas of what a spirit is and can do, so they have been divided into three types: Wandering Spirits, the type often worshipped by barbarians. These spirits are manifestations of nature and wander around the world. They do not interfere with humans, and Barbarians believe only they have the right to magic. Elder spirits are less physical, and exist in this world as energy and through the magic they provide. These are the spirits worshipped by swampdwellers, who believe only a few people can see spirits, as they don't really exist in our world entirely. However, they still deserve to be worshipped. Finally, Spirits of the art are the types of spirits most commonly worshipped throughout Inonaa, as they are prized by Great Farmers. These are the ones that interact with humans, appreciate the arts, and offer challenges and deals. The Great farmers of the fields believe these to be more materialistic and physical than those of the eastern forest, but they are about the same thing.

Famous spiritbeings:

Helmaver-A horse with a long tail that looks like a soft, pink cherry blossom tree. Its mane is the same, with light, vague branches hiding in a cloud of flowers. Its legs seem to be covered in the bark from the same tree and it has small flowers growing on it as well. Helmaver is a kind spiritbeing, which offers its power in spiritguiding and farming if you can draw a portrait fair to its beauty. If they fail, and insult Helmaver, they will be cursed to never see themselves as they really look in a mirror.   Jalmoaro-A giant, black, snake covered in feathers with the head of an owl. Jalmoaro, the teller of stories will often ask a human to tell a story it has never heard before. Those who succeed may be granted power in seeing and those who fail may go mute.   Gaomam-A spirit with a love/hate relationship for battles. Has a large red body, and a burning skull, floating above his shoulders. If you can prove yourself to him in battle, he'll give you great powers, but with an ironic twist. For example, he might let you win all battles, against anyone, unless they're fighting with a wodden sword or stick, in which case they'll kill you.   Almser-A spirit in the desert, which has gone mad. It will change its personality every minute, and you have to change yours too in order to not offend it. Fail, and it'll steal your personality.   Themmel Of Wind-An elder spirit worshipped by the Swampdwellers, Themmel is the wind that comes in spring and cures all sickness. He is portrayed as a bird, but as if wind had taken shape.   Semvior-A Wandering Spirit, which is important to most people of Inonaa as he represents fall. Semvior presents as a skeleton, talls as three men, with a cape of colorfull leaf. His face is covered by moss, and his head is clad with antlers. His ribcage is shaped as an actual cage, which houses a bird. This spirit is percived different by different groups. Great Farmers belives he carries a scythe and his voice bring cold winds. The barbarians, however, often portrait him as a "good", spirit, carrying a cane and a bag full of mushrooms and fruits, which he spreads throughout forests.
