Crysalis
Crysalis is the driving force behind every scientific advancement in the Rift. A mostly synthesized resource, it is a pure black stone ranging from the size of a grain of sand to a large boulder. It can be modified to do anything, depending on how the internal wiring is arranged. The outside is shining black onyx, but the inside is a carefully crafted network of thousands to millions of crystal lattices and pathways. if even one is out of place, it renders the entire Crysalis inoperable. Fortunately enough, the network is generated by the synthesis process, not hand-crafted.
Examples of Usage
If fashioned as a wire, it can transfer Kali Energy from one end to the next.
It can power what are effectively guns by acting as a focusing crystal which generates a bolt of power. When shot, it makes a crackling sound and workings with blunt force trauma, though it has a lingering corruptive effect if it makes contact with organic matter, similar to that of Tzaran Streams on naked flesh.
It can be used to store information, acting as a hard-drive to be plugged into a Datapad.
It can be used as a projector, where thousands of small Crysalis will float around and create their own color to project on themselves and show any transmitted signal.
A Crysalis can act as a sender or recipients of information, such as audio, images, or both, as such as how communicators and calls happen. Since Crysalis are 3D objects, they form 3D images, leading to a holo call effect similar to that of Star Wars when used as such.
Materials To Make It
The measurements vary based on the size of the Crysalis but what's required is
- Onyx
- Iron
- Varanium
- Handwavium
- Stand In
Access & Availability
Complexity
It is extremely complex, as depending on the material used to synthesize it, it can be anything from a power conductor, to a hard drive, to a phone.
Discovery
It was created by Lati during alchemical experimentation in eons past.
