The Iron Order

Pinterest Gallery   Also commonly known as the Vulanti Arbiters or the Imperial Arbiters.   Although the order is closely associated with the Vulanti Empire, and even referred to as the Vulanti Arbiters, they don’t actually directly follow the emperor. Instead, they have the power to overthrow the emperor temporarily if the emperor is deemed to be in danger of bringing the empire to ruin. This hasn’t happened in over two hundred years. They also take special care to oversee The Dominion Legion.   Arbiters are the Judge, Jury, and executioners of the Vul. They rigorously study the laws of the empire and are periodically tested at the Iron Fortress. They feel as though they have jurisdiction everywhere, but won’t executed someone outside of the empire to keep the peace. However, they have been known to arrest people for things they deem to be crimes that aren’t actually illegal wherever they are.   An Arbiter is trained from a young age as scholars, with a focus on law, and finely honed martial skill. There are some Arbiters that have studied, and learned, magic, but they generally keep that to themselves until they have to use it. Arbiters are chosen at birth and then it is up to the family if they are willing to give the child up. It is considered a great honor to give up a child, but there are still many that are chosen that are never given up to learn. The child is given one chance to return to a normal life before becoming a full arbiter at 18, but very few have ever given up being an Arbiter. Once you become an Arbiter, you are one for life.   In addition to their skill Arbiters have their own soldiers that they alone lead and train know as Inquisitors. Notably they are trained more for small skirmishes and duals instead of full-scale battle like a traditional soldier.   The leader of the Arbiters, the Judicator, who is voted in by the arbiters and inquisitors (the Arbiters votes are worth more than an inquisitor, but there are far more inquisitors than arbiters.) The Judicator, who also sits on the Vulanti War Council, is the arbiter for the arbiters. IF they ever break their oath or need to be stopped the Judicator is the one to do it.   For gameplay purposes Arbiters are 3/4 Conquest Paladin or 3/4 War Cleric AND 1/4 Wizard or 1/4 Sorcerer. Inquisitors are fighters.   Iron Order Classifications   Inquisitor
