Steelborn

The part mechanical and part magical automatons that were created by the dwarves of Vaahd Knulheim. The magical energy in their bodies slowly awakened the automatons leaving them with a consciousness and a broader understanding of the world. This alone didn't make the Steelborn seek freedom though. This development led to the dwarves to create new less magically dependent automatons that would never grow to have a conscious of their own effectively destroying the hope of any new Steelborn. This finally pushed the Steelborn to rebel or risk the death of their kind as they knew it.
Now that the Steelborn have a home of their own creating new steelborn has become their biggest challenge. They are not at war with Vaahd Knulheim, but they don't have great diplomatic relations, which makes trade difficult. The peoples of Steelhaven still haven't managed to create any new Steelborn.
For D&D gameplay purposes this includes Warforged and Autognomes
