For Hooves the Bell Tolls - Chapter Six

A Startling Arrival   Quthbert, Thorzan, & A.G.R. 653 Post Maelstrom

Malbrix, still tending Marinus, reaches out and places her hands hon Marinus's head. There is a flash of magical energy and both wink out of existence.
Right at this moment there is a rustling in the forest around the clearing and a dwarf on the back of a large mule bursts into the clearing. Thorzan Shatterbeard shouts in dismay "No, I wasn't fast enough to save Volmak Flintfeet!"
Seeing the confusing on Quthberts face, Thorzan says "There is no time for me to explain, we must ride, Bayanor approaches." with that Thorzan kicks his mule into motion.
Quthbert wanting answers follows and AGR, trusting his companion, follows after. The trio ride through the Imperial Forests as they try to evade The Iron Order pursuers.
The Trio arrive at one of the great bridges that crosses from Sothern Astryia to Udrend. The bridge is heavily guarded by imperial soldiers and, once the soldiers realized who Quthbert and AGR were, the trio was forced to fight. A holy Order priest that was crossing the bridge joins the fight to aid the imperial soldiers and Thorzan Shatterbeard is forced to slay his comrade in battle.
Thorzan was wounded, but AGR was able to lead Thorzan away from the battle on his mount. The trio escape into the Drema Marsh - Udrend just minutes ahead of their pursers.
Travelling deep into the swamp they finally find a ruin where they can stay dry and rest for the night. They can hear their pursers searching for them in the distance, but tracing through the wetlands can be incredibly difficult. The trio makes camp and rests for the night.
