Originally from the Whiteford area, the Whitacre family was once held in high regard, even anticipating promotion into the ranks of nobility. Unfortunately for the family's aspirations the rumor of hereditary madness—originating from a genuinely mad individual and spread by political rivals—damaged their social standing to a degree that the ordeal was quietly shelved. Some members have relocated to Walnut River in hopes of leaving their reputation behind.
