Eruption of the Southern Volcanos'

I pull my cloak tighter about my shoulders, watching as the snow falls grey to the ground. It should be white. A sharp, horrible breeze bites though my cloak, making me shiver violently.   "Raina, love." I look over my shoulder to see Úruvion walking over. He looks so horribly tired and thin. "What are you doing out here? It's too cold for you in your condition."   I rest my hand on my still-growing belly. "They're moving again."   "How are you so certain there's two in there?" He asks, wrapping an arm around my waist, resting a hand on mine.   "Because there's far too much kicking for there to be just one. And Nimtolien told me he saw two souls." I look up at the sky again. "We haven't seen the sun in months, Úruvion."   He rests his head against mine. "Úruvion, the storehouses. There's not enough for everyone, is there?"   His hand clenches. "How much worse is the rationing going to get?"   "Worse. The damn ash seems to have killed everything." He pulls me close.   "How are the repairs coming along for the Than?"   "Coming. Lady Dessuithiel let me know that most the city has been rebuilt and they're even planting crops, seeing as it's warm enough by the volcano to grow things. If we're really lucky, they might have a crop come early spring, something they are more than willing to share with everyone." He lifts my face. "You've lost weight."   I smile, tiredly. "I'm not eating as well as I should. No one is." I run my free hand over my belly again. "As long as they have enough."   "We're going to get through this, Raina." I laugh.   "You're the hopeful one this time?" He kisses my face.   "We're going to get through this, somehow. Come on, let's get out of the ash snow."

Manifestation

A massive volcanic eruption in the southeastern part of the archipelago that makes up the Elrim's motherlands.

Localization

The entire archipelago was plunged into an early autumn by the ash cloud that covered the skies. The Than suffered damage to their cities, farmlands were covered ash and things died. The effects of the eruption were felt throughout the entire lower hemisphere, though the Elrim suffered the worst. Mass famines wreck the people, leaving the people starving and struggling through the worst winter in living memory.
