Ear-Shattering

The bats have swarmed up. It's frightening. I'm swinging my rapier around, trying to fend them off while the odd girl darts behind a door. Then the elf, Jynnar, grabs hold of me. She's strong, stronger than she looks, pulling me close. Her head slams into my chest and she hold tight. I can feel her magic welling up inside her.
Then a thunderous, ear-shattering sound emminates from her. The force rattles my bones and the other girl hides fully behind the door. Two of the bats explode as dust is shaken from the chandilers and decorations on the walls tremble. Thunderwave. Noisy.
I look down as she looks up, my magic still heavy on my lips. "Bats really do suck."
