Deeper Still
The group looked over the edge of the pit, trying to see the bottom. The bottom is just out of Jynnar's vision, the other three unable to make out the bottom.
"There has to be a way down." Wisp whispers into their minds.
"Not for him." Darcy motions to Gear, his great metal body would break any rock he might use to climb down.
"Prepahps we could lower him down with rope." Wisp suggests, pulling out her rope and searching for somthing to tie it to. She sees a stlagmite and motions to it. "That would work."
"It won't hold him." Darcy shakes his head. "Hang on, I have an idea."
He searches around his bag and pulls out a couple of ingredients, including a feather. Then he whispers a encantation, a soft orange glow falling from his lips, almost liquid. His three companions suddenly feel weightless. He gets up and turns to them. "Well, see you down below."
Darcy pushes off, falling backward over the edge of the pit. Jynnar lets out a strangeled sound of fear, reaching out for him. His spell then catches him and he gently floats down. After a short time, he reaches the bottom and he lightly lands. "Come on, guys!"
Gear leaps down, falling like a brick. He lands hard, shaking Darcy where he stands. "Well, I guess there is a weight limit."
Wisp leaps down, boucing lightly from wall to wall, landing even lighter than Darcy. Jynnar takes a breath and takes the jump last. As she floats lightly down, she holds her skirt steady, allowing her red cloak to billow about her. Wisp notices, as Jynnar lands, that her cloak and the shadows it casts have near become physical wings. Jynnar looks up towards the top of the pit.
"Let's get going." Darcy says.
"Ever deeper." Jynnar mutters.
