Vicaros

Vicaros is the patron god of Kobolds, and presides over the domain of Loyalty, Preserverance and Hard Labor. Vicaros is a Lawful Neutral god.   Vicaros is known for having an incredibly growly voice, so much so that, at times, it may be difficult to understand him, should he not be speaking out loud- A voice he rarely uses, in place of facial expression and telepathy. In a form that is visible and comprehensible to mortals, Vicaros is a much larger version of a kobold, often towering over 10 feet tall, with a large, hunched back. He portrays the appearance of a Crocodillian Kobold, with random teeth from his upper and lower jaws showing. Vicaros appears muscular and thick in frame, made for lifting giant loads. His arms fall to his feet, and often he will walk on all fours. In terms of clothing, Vicaros wears simple cloths, a tribal-looking necklace made of feathers, and a sapphire-decorated bracelet on his left hand.   In Legend, it is believed that Vicaros once served the Ancient Creator, a Dragon that brought to life both Kobolds and Dragonkin as a species. Vicaros was the first of The Ancient Creator's experiments, creating a kobold from an adult Alligator. Vicaros served under the Ancient Creator loyally for an unknown, but very long time, and was supposedly his favorite creation- Being gifted with a magical bracelet that gave him some protection from harm (Bracer of Protection +2). When Ry'Villus killed The Ancient Creator, Vicaros was almost devastated- But there was little time allowed for resentment to fester, as Vicaros was now in a position where his tribe needed guidance- So, the kobold took leadership of the tribe, and guided them on living in the wild, now without their dragon to protect them.   After a life augmented by the Ancient Creator's blood, and with the faith and reverence of his kin, Vicaros transcended mortality and became a god.   Vicaros now resides in Arcadia. When giving mortals visions of him, Vicaros often stands atop a large throne-like structure over a village where kobolds live on- A place where everyone works together, and knows their place in life. Though few will likely be able to see it, zealous followers of Vicaros hope to be such loyal workers with tenacious hearts such that they earn a place among those souls claimed to be in a paradise where everyone has their rightful place and role in Vicaros' afterlife society.   All clerics and paladins of Vicaros are Kobolds- And above all, they value putting all your effort in for the good of the tribe, or your family. Vicaros' tenants often claim that, in giving all your effort into the good of the tribe, you will be rewarded. This, in some rare cases, has led to tribes abusing those of their kin that faithfully follow Vicaros' teachings, and this can lead to Oathbreaker Kobolds of Vicaros, who had their faith broken and abused.

History

Ry'Villus and Vicaros were both created from the Ancient Creator, a long-past dragon that learned the arcane secret of embedding his own blood into a living creature to augment it, and gift it with sentient thought and knowledge. Vicaros was the Ancient Creator's first experiment- A kobold born from a gifted Crocodile. Ry'Villus was a much later experiment- A kobold gifted with further blood from the dragon, and given greater strength and knowledge.   Though Ry'Villus was a Dragonkin, Vicaros was a favorite of the Ancient Creator. The only one of the Creator's creations that was given a gift from his hoard. Vicaros loved his master, but Ry'Villus, having grown smarter, began to question her loyalty to someone who treated all his creations like slaves to gather his hoard further.   Ry'Villus, in an act of wit and rebellion, slayed the Ancient Creator, leaving Vicaros to become the leader of his own kobold tribe. The two later ascended, having been creations of such a legendary dragon, and patrons of their respective species.

Relationship Reasoning

Vicaros is quick to call Ry'Villus a "Betrayer," but in honesty, Ry'Villus pities Vicaros for being blind to the treatment his kin had received under the leadership of the dragon. It may have been because the Ancient Creator, but Ry'Villus wishes that Vicaros could've seen past the gifts and loyalty to earn his own freedom.
