The Merikan Confederacy is torn apart by two years of civil war.
The Unification War is the propaganda name given to the civil war fought among the states of the Merikan Confederacy resulting in the dissolution of the articles of Confederate Conchord and the overthrow of the Marcus presidency. The victorious Union forces established a new Merikan Union and instituted a more centralized system of federal governance based upon nationalist authoritarianism. Andra Marcus is jailed for treason and Georgia governor James Vinyard convenes a constitutional convention in the ruins of Old Washington.
