The Steel Legions reemerge to repulse a barbarian invasion of the Merikan city-states

Acting in support of the Vanguard Church, the Princes take an active hand in Merikan affairs and lead the defence of Merikan territories against the incursion of Badlander Mutos.   The Devotion of the Deep Ones cult is accused of harbouring Muto sympathies and Vanguard militants respond by denouncing the Deep Ones creed as a traitorous heresy against man and God. A series of violent pogroms decimates the ministry of the Devotion cult and establishes a racist anti-muto sentiment that has endured ever since.   By winning over the support of evangelical Vanguard believers, the Princes emerge as the victors in this conflict.
