The Princes outlaw the study of Precursor knowledge.

The Princes undertake a ruthless campaign of retrogressive cultural contamination in Skyland. Books and scrolls, including priceless Precursor relics, are burned in mass public demonstrations. The Princes institute bizarre new religious cults and foster a culture of fear, superstition, and submission.   Neighboring clans beyond Skyland, such as the northern Huronians and the various southern kingdoms, avoid the worst of this cruel policy of enforced ignorance, but the developmental progress of Skyland is effectively halted and remains so for generations to come.
