The post-cataclysmic era is fraught with ancient superstition and fear of the unknown remains a powerful force in the collective unconscious of the various societies living in the post-cataclysmic world. Most faith traditions share a powerful resistance against the lore and practice of magic. This prohibition often extends to the misunderstood applications of technological knowledge as well (see Technoclasm).
