— Jungle Law, Warden's Fieldbook

The jungle wardens of Pachuco, also known as Chimalli or "Shields," are sworn protectors of the Pachuco jungle and its myriad inhabitants.

Structure

The Chimalli are endorsed and funded by the Pachuco clan council. They are led by an appointed clan commander named Etalco. He designates a leadership corps of elite wardens known as inspectors who hold jurisdiction over various jungle sectors. The investigators keep watch for threats and delegate wardens to identify crime and deviance in their territories.

The inspector warden known as Locard is the last northern warden still active during the Vril Invasion. During his latest and final rescue mission to gather survivors of the Vril incursion, he encountered a band of Merikan adventurers bound for Trinity Village. He offered them aid and advice, but the best advice he could spare was a warning to stay clear of Trinity.

Public Agenda

Etalco and his men are dedicated to maintaining law and order in the jungle. They protect the lands of homesteaders and guard trade caravans. They also track fugitives who seek to hide from justice in the jungle wilds.

Assets

The jungle wardens control secret outposts throughout the Pachuco frontier. These outposts are maintained by warden rangers and are stocked with ample provisions, supplies, and weapons for conducting operations far from their home base in Pachuco City.

A former investigator named Alakai has begun operating as an alchemist in Pachuco City. His methods are unique and highly secretive. They are also very effective. He has been training many of the wardens in his art including Inspector Locard.

History

The wardens have existed ever since the original settling of the Ejidum Valley around 477 PCE. For 500 years they have been the guardians of the Zone frontier and defended the Pachuco people from the lurking horrors of the Deep Zone in the west and the incursion of Vril headhunters from the north east.
