Dissidua Mandara Character in Imperial Rights | World Anvil

Dissidua Mandara

From his mighty stallion did he step down upon the soiled, purple carpets. With the thunder of his greaves upon the plush silks, cracks spread from the stone beneath. The unholy fled from his path as the vile, undead king unsheathed it's heathen blade. With a scream, it engaged with the Demigod King of Teledigrad, Dissidua Mandara.

Dissidua Mandara was a greedy man, as later accounts would reveal. Little is known of his youth, except that one day he appeared on the doorstep of the church of Travail, begging to see the high priest. It wasn't too long after that the teenager came back out wearing robes of the goddess, preaching her name.

It wasn't found out until later that Mandara was using the church as a front to push his own religion, simply known as The Mandate. He claimed a single God that would bring hope and salvation to the slowly decaying city, in which the people desparately needed. The city's golden age had passed as the final of the The Eleven Brothers, and it's been decades since.

Mandara promised the people, at first, in Travail's name that he could bring about a new age. While this was true, it wasn't in a way that the people expected. For a while, the followers of Travail grew in number until Mandara finally cast aside the goddess of Being. Here was the introduction of The Mandate, a false religion that preached of a godly husband to Travail. With claims that Travail has abandoned the people, Mandara brought about a new regime that quickly led him to the throne as the ruler was executed.

As Demigod King Mandara, he ruled with an iron fist and turned hope into subservient obedience. His greed became apparent as he reached out with a small army to the surrounding territories, where he then began to claim them. His righteous claim to Empire was fed for twenty-one years, when he was finally assassinated by an unknown agent. Despite his tyranny, his dream of Empire led onward from Teledigrad into what it is now known as today.
