The Creation Story Myth in Imnnocan | World Anvil

The Creation Story

Let me tell you something interesting, my friend. I have traveled all over Imnnacon to discover and document the many different creation stories. They vary as much and as often as the sapiens telling them. But, in all my research, I've discovered three common threads: everpresent chaos, violent birth, and...a loom. I know! A loom! right? What in the Omne does a loom have to do with anything?
Busawe Jango, travelling scholar

The following is an excerpt from Busawe Jango's journal regarding a visit with the Truthsayer, Gunjo.
Truthsayers can be fascinating to talk to. If you can get to those that understand how to tell a story. Most get so mired in the details of some scholarly or divine pursuit, that the listener can easily get lost in the telling...and bored. I was lucky to run arcross the renowned Truthsayer, Gunjo, today. He was in an unusually talkative mood and regaled me with the Truthsayer's creation story. I'll admit, at the end, I was definitely entranced. I've jotted it down here to add to my research.
Chaos was everywhere, chaos was all, and chaos did not understand itself.   Order did not exist outside of chaos and struggled to exist within. It required time and space to thrive, and they had not yet been born. But it, at least, understood itself.   So order slowly adapted, collapsed in on itself, and consumed itself. It did this till it became a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of itself. Then, in a big bang, it birthed space.   When space erupted from order's womb, it pushed chaos aside. The place it once occupied filled with time. As space burst forth from order, it grabbed threads of order's innards and began weaving time into itself. But the fabric created began to unravel as it had nothing to support it. So order created a loom upon which the fabric of time and space could be woven from itself. This done, the fabric became stable, and the universe was created.   Within the fabric of time and space, Imnnacon, its two moons, and all the stars were woven. Loose threads fell from the fabric and into chaos. They became the gods. In turn, ever present chaos seeped into the fabric, creating imperfections. These imperfections became the sapiens of Imnnacon.   The gods, existing outside of the fabric of time and space, became aware of everything around them and named the elements of creation - thereby becoming lords over them. Time became known as Aevum. Order became known as Ordo. Space became Caelus, and the universe became Omne. Since chaos did not understand itself, it could not be named. It remained Chaos, and the lords had no power over it.

Interesting story! One thing though, the quote you've provided is fairly hard to read... as in, I had to copy and paste it to VS Code because I was having a hard time with it. ^,^" You might want to look into that, but if this is your style then pretend I didn't say anything.   Otherwise, great content! Keep up the good work! :D
