Gakus

Don't blame me if it takes longer to get to Aũ Bo these days. Most of us, including me, give Gakus a wide berth. We don't want anything to do with Shigyl Stone or its corruption. Besides, why the hell do you want to go to Market Town anyway?
— Ship captain on Carcannet
Gakus is an uninhabited island in the middle of the Irricam Ocean. It offers little to the inhabitants of Imnnacon. It is sparsely forested, with no significant resources, and remote enough to make travel too expensive for most. The rare visitors were scholars interested in its unique flora and fauna or adventurers hoping to find ancient runes or artifacts.
I don't travel the route between Carcannet and Aũ Bo any longer. Gakus gives me the creeps. You can sometimes even see the miasma on a clear day. I've heard the tales, too. Tales of corrupted sea monsters roaming the waters off of its coast. I'll stick to travelling between Aũ Bo and Telshai. Takes longer, but is much safer.
— Ship captain
Before its corruption, Gakus was a central location for ships sailing across the Irricam. Ships looking to dock for a quick repair or freshwater restock were common. A small village of sorts had developed on its shore as a result. Now it only supports corrupted monstrosities, and no sailing vessel has set anchor there in a decade.
Where there's miasma, there's Shigyl Stone. The risk is worth it, if you ask me.
