House of Erithus

Purpose / Function

Like many of the Houses of the Chath, the Kavallerien House of Erithus serves a dual purpose. On one hand it is the regional center of worship for Erithus, the Elk spirit of the Chath. The other purpose it serves is as a place of healing, especially for ailments that are resistant to traditional methods of healing.

Architecture

Sitting out front of the House of Erithus, on a podium of marble, is a copper-green sculpture of Erithus, the Elk with golden antlers rising from it.   The main structure of the House is made granite laced with labradorite, bas reliefs depicting the myths and legends of Erithus and their devout running the outer perimeter, with corners carved in the forms Erithus has been known to take. The main doors, a set of two made of a dark wood, is carved the Elk form of Erithus with emeralds placed where the eyes would be.   Through the main doors is a twenty-foot by fifty-foot chapel space, a vaulted ceiling soaring over head, with simple yet elegant stone pews set in rows leading towards a similarly simple yet elegant podium. The podium is set before a stain glasses wall depicting the Houses deity, and two doors two the side leading out to the atrium.   The atrium is a hexagonal space, an open aired garden, surrounded by covered stone walkways. Soft grasses, bushes covered in ripened berries, two circular fountains and a large sacred tree fill the space. The tree carries marks that are said to have been caused by Erithus scrapped their horns against the tree.
