Coasthall

A nation within a nation, Coasthall is called home to the half-undead Siliban. They lived independently from the Fjortir kingdom that lies around them. Once Coasthall was the capital of the Fjortir kingdom, but when the king corrupted the lands with a necromantic plague, the city turned into a necropolis. Now, little from its necromantic past is still visible. Except for its inhabitants, who still carries the now neutralized necromantic plague within them. Children are born from these parents also carry the remnants of this plague within them.

Under the rule of Essia, an undead medusa, the city turned into a welcoming place to all. And due to trading contracts made with the Madilar, the city will prosper for ages to come.

The city lies in the middle of the three main islands that form the Fjortir kingdom, surrounded by water. The city itself stands on many different smaller islands within the Demogate Waters.

King's Ziggurat

The former seat of power of the mad king now serves as the private palace of the Lord Protector of the city, Essia.
Her presence has made the ziggurat into a tropical garden instead of the place of suffering, torture, and death while it was under the king's rule.

The Raging Spire

The ancient tower leans of a massive whirlpool in the middle of the city. The tower with a half arch on with rests a small tower is a place of study and experimentation of the whirlpool. Rumors say that the origin of the whirlpool is a portal to another plane. But none has dared to verify where it leads.

In the past, the tower built by the king's advisor, Nocla Carsil, as a place of experimentation. During one of his experimentations, something when wrong, and as a result, he created the portal after the smoke cleared Nocla was nowhere to be found and marked to be the first victim of the Demongate.

Over the years, many hapless fishers were sucked up by the whirlpool, unable to escape its pull as they came to close to it. Even the local thieves' guild found it an interesting way to make bodies or people “disappear.” During the mad kings' reign, it was even a form of execution.

The City-State controls a large silver mine called the Silverbeek near the city, providing its resources for trade for outer good it needs.

The last almost 100 years, and the living from an alliance between the 3 remaining large cities of the kingdom, Kyngesmere, Maplethrope, and Westerwin.   The kings' rule ended when a group of adventurers killed the undead king, the undead subjects where released from the king's control, and those who didn't lose their spark of life began to wonder if the people of Fjortir would accept them. As Undead Lamia, Essia stepped up and with the help of the World Shapers, started to crave out a City-State from the ruins of old Coasthall. Fearful of what happened within the old capital, the people waited until 1105 AC to send a scouting party only to discover the Siliban and the death of king Turam.   Fearfull of this new undead "plague," people called for a new force to liberate the old capital. Some heroes stepping and prevented a new war while brokering out a treaty between the Silvain, Madilar, and the Fjortir Alliance. In 1110 AC Essia was summon before the Iyassian Tree and received the tree blessing legitimizing the existence of the new City-State.
