Wintergrasp Settlement in Illios | World Anvil

Wintergrasp

Wintergrasp is a city that's built to withstand the harsh winters that come with being so close to the Snowy Peaks. Its buildings are made of sturdy materials, such as stone and thick timber, and the streets are wide enough to allow for easy snow removal. The city is also built around a hot spring, which provides warmth to the citizens and prevents the water from freezing over during the coldest months.   Wintergrasp is a bustling city with a population of around 30,000 people. It's known for its fine metalwork and weaponry, thanks to the abundant iron mines in the surrounding mountains. The city is also home to many skilled blacksmiths and metalworkers, who produce the finest swords, shields, and armor in the kingdom.   The city features many hot springs and public baths, which help to keep the citizens warm during the colder months. The architecture of the city is a blend of dwarvish and human styles, with thick walls, narrow windows, and peaked roofs to keep out the snow and wind. The city's fortifications are also impressive, with a strong outer wall and a keep at the center of the city to protect against any potential threats.
