Shinobeth
He is often depicted as a shadowy figure with elongated arms and fingers, twisted in strange and unnatural ways. His followers are often individuals who have lost touch with reality, or those seeking to escape the constraints of the sane world.
Shinobeth is often worshipped by those who have suffered from mental illness, as well as those seeking to unlock the full potential of their minds. His followers believe that by embracing madness and surrendering to Shinobeth, they will achieve a higher state of consciousness and unlock previously unknown abilities.
The "Cheese Fork Massacre" as it is commonly referred to, remains one of the most notorious events in the history of Illious. The butcher of Hollyhole, a man named Jakob, claimed to be playing a game with Shinobeth, and set out to carry out a series of gruesome murders using only a cheese fork as his weapon of choice.
Over the course of a month, Jakob targeted individuals throughout the small town of Hollyhole, leaving a trail of carnage and fear in his wake. Despite the efforts of local authorities, Jakob remained elusive, and the murders continued to pile up.
Rumors and legends began to spread, suggesting that Jakob had been possessed by Shinobeth himself, and was acting as the Mad God's instrument of destruction. Some claimed that the cheese fork itself was cursed, and that Jakob was being controlled by an otherworldly force.
In the end, Jakob was finally captured and put on trial, where he confessed to carrying out the murders at the bidding of Shinobeth. He was sentenced to death by hanging, and his body was burned in a public square as a warning to others not to worship the Mad God.
The Cheese Fork Massacre remains one of the most terrifying examples of the dangers of dabbling with madness and insanity, and serves as a warning to those who would seek to embrace Shinobeth's power.
