Nilonora (Nil-O-Nora)

Nilonora is the largest city in northern Stormhaven, and is home to the Duke of the Meadowbrook duchy, near the StormHaven and Aminara border.   The city is also known for its industry, predominantly in cloth and leather clothing.

Demographics

Mainly Human and Elven, however there are some Tieflings due to the close proximity to Aminara, in addition to dwarves.

Industry & Trade

Nilonora is a large trade hub between StormHaven and Aminara, the city has thrived off of the trading between the two kingdoms.   The leather and cloth industry in Nilonora is known for its high-quality materials and fine craftsmanship. The city is home to many skilled artisans who specialize in creating beautiful and durable clothing, bags, shoes, and other accessories. The leather used in Nilonora is often sourced from the surrounding forests and tanned using traditional methods that have been passed down for generations. The cloth industry is similarly renowned, with weavers using the finest wool and cotton to create luxurious fabrics that are popular both within StormHaven and beyond. Many travelers and merchants come to Nilonora to purchase these goods, making it a bustling hub of commerce and trade.

The Market District: Where most of the city's trading takes place. This is where the various stalls, shops, and warehouses are located.   The Harbor District: This is where the city's small fishing port is located.   The Residential District: Where most of the city's residents live. This area is a mix of both rich and poor neighborhoods.   The Civic District: Where most of the city's government buildings are located. This includes the city hall, the courthouse, and Castle Ulan   The Artisan District: Where many of the city's craftspeople and artists live and work. This is where the leather and cloth industries are centered.   The Temple District: This is where the various churches and temples of the city are located. It is a place of worship and reflection for many of the city's residents.

Guilds and Factions

The Leatherworkers Guild - As a hub for the leather industry, the city has a strong leatherworkers guild. They regulate the quality of leather goods produced within the city, and also provide training for aspiring leatherworkers.   The Weavers Guild - Along with the leather industry, Nilonora is also known for its cloth production. The weavers guild oversees this industry, and is responsible for maintaining quality standards and training new weavers.   The Merchants Guild - As a major trading hub, the city has a powerful merchants guild. They regulate trade within the city, and also work to establish new trade routes and partnerships with other cities and kingdoms.   The Nightblades - A secretive group of skilled assassins and spies, the Nightblades are rumored to operate within the city. Very little is known about this group, as they keep a low profile and rarely reveal themselves to the public.   The City Watch - The city watch is responsible for maintaining law and order within Nilonora. They are well-trained and well-equipped, and work tirelessly to keep the streets safe for the city's inhabitants.

Points of interest

Castle Ulnan - Home to the Duke of the Riverlands   Meadow Plaza - large market square, also a popular spot for performers, artists, and entertainers, making it a vibrant and lively place to visit.   Great Oak:  A massive and ancient tree that has stood in the center of the city for centuries. It is said to be a sacred tree that has magical properties, and many locals come to pray and make offerings to it. The tree is considered a blessing of Kynimar.

Natural Resources

Flax farms are outside the city, magic is used to provide ideal growth conditions, additionally farms sprawl out of the city heading east parallel to the Crystal River.
