Fundamentals of Magic and the Arcane Veil

Magic in itself is pure, there is no good nor evil in magic, just in those who use it. When the world was first created, all the Great Divines helped to shape it, it was Kynimar who bestowed magic to the world, allowing the creatures within to pull from her Arcane Veil. The Souls of those who can use magic holds there reservoir of magic. This is the magic utilized when someone calls on there spells or any magical ability they possess.   Magic is pulled from the Arcane Veil into the Souls of those who can use it, however Pure Magic is not pulled through, rather augmented versions of magic specific to what that person can do (Which is why certain classes can use specific spells). The Arcane Veil is an interdimensional force that separates all plains of existence from the unpredictable effects of pure magic. Despite attempts to do so over the ages, no mage has successfully interacted with this Pure Magic directly.   The Arcane Veil can be damaged and when it is, Pure Magic can fall through, but shifts to an augmented form of magic before arriving in the material plane, this can have wild and un-predictable effects, but the veil can only be severely damaged by something far beyond mortal capabilities. However small rifts can appear in the Veil when large amounts of magic are used all at once, such as during wars. it is the responsibility of the Order of the Veil, a holy order of Kynimar to restore these rifts.   These rifts work by applying spell effects at random to the surrounding area, so they can be positive and quickly turn negative.   Divine Casters are given access to the Arcane Veil by whatever God they follow, allowing them to use magic without being born with ability.

Manifestation

When a rift appears in world, it appears as a green and black cut in the air.
