The Giant's Palm

Overview

The Giant’s Palm Thieves Guild has been in Giant's Bridge for decades, starting out as nothing more than a couple of low life thieves who would run scams and pickpockets for a living. It has slowly been gaining notoriety over the years, greatly expanding once Guildmaster Fraela took over seven years ago. Since Fraela’s placement, she has embraced greater risks and darker moral crossroads in the name of proift, such as assassinations, scamming nobles, and the smuggling of drugs, people, and even magic artifacts. Over the past seven years, the guild has become known as a much larger threat, and is perhaps the most successful thieving group in the Salamander Coast.

Gaining Access

The guild primarily functions in the underside of the Kindred Keg Tavern, but also has members running other businesses across town that do jobs from those places. Rumor says that in order to gain entry into the depths of the Kindred Keg, one must present coin for a drink, placed in the center of the palm to the barkeep, who will take the coin, and say: “You look weary my friend,” to which the patron will respond, “Nothing a good drink can’t remedy.” After this, the barkeep will allow the patron and who they are traveling with to come to the cellar in order to gain entry to the guild. Weapons are taken from unknowns coming downstairs, and eyes are on them at all times. Fraela and the Tiny Giant, Tsang Bo, do a lot of their work down here, and higher-ranking members of the guild reside there as well, those who wish to employ the guild, or offer trade or the likes can come in to speak with either Fraela or Tsang Bo.   Gnazlok’s market stand is also a hub for the guild. Entry into Gnazlok’s place is typically only for true guild members; all other business is conducted in the Kindred Keg.

Members of Interest

Leader: Fraela

Very fierce and serious, values, and rewards good work. If you don’t pull your weight, or you bring nothing to the table she won’t recognize you as a member of the guild. Fraela has been Guildmaster for the past seven years, really building upon it, and making it rather notorious and successful.

The Talker: Gnazlok

He is a bit smaller than a lot of others like him, Highly charismatic, and highly dexterous. He tends to take a liking to outsiders and black sheep. He sees himself in those people who are outcasts. He answers directly to Fraela and is in charge of recruiting new members to the guild. Specifically to find people who are disposable but show promise. A Magic-user first, and a rogue second. Many times throughout the day Gnazlok is caught whispering into a small light blue gem that he keeps tied around his neck.

The Informant: Tsang Bo the “Tiny Giant”

Halfling. Tsang Bo’s role in the Guild is the connection. His world travels have given him a long list of connections all across Illica, from Lo'Shar to Cartasia. He often deals in the exchange, sale, and inquiries from clients all over the map. He is more of the face to clients of the guild rather than a thief himself. Tsang Bo is respected well as a member of the guild, as well as across the Salamander Coast. Many refer to him as the “Tiny Giant,” due to his small size as well as being located in Giant Bridge.

The Front: Bertram Morlander

Bertram Morlander is not really an interesting character, just the figurehead that has been planted by the guild. Until recently Giant's Bridge had been under different management, but the people in charge decided it was time for a change. After his vacancy, this Bertram fellow came from know where proclaiming himself the new funder of Giant's Bridge. Bertram, of course, was being funded and run by Fraela and the guild, who would ensure his victory, and rise to the top of the city. Bertram is a charismatic man, a true politician, and someone that most people have trusted, he has been mayor now for only several months and has been getting funding and protection from the guild.
