Logar Tor

Logar Tor was an Elder Lich of the Far Realm who took residence in the peninsula of Kollerdörf in the Second Age and, through dark magics, began amassing an undead army. His efforts went unnoticed for some time, with residents of the city of Atzënbruuk focussed on their own business and greed. However, a member of a troop attacked by a large undead force escaped and rode hard to the city with word of what was happening. Once discovered, word spread to Fanvegasen (now Icarna), Delg, Kragmere, and Harthelen of a powerful lich amassing an immense undead force there. Fearing the undead horde would grow to near unstoppable size, the ruling powers of the kingdoms decided to band together and kill Logar Tor before he could flee. Logar Tor was lured into attacking Atzënbruuk with his army, at which point powerful elven wizards and dwarven clerics worked to trap him there. The outflow of magic as Logar Tor tried to resist blew Fanvegasen to pieces and released a wave of desiccation which washed over the northwest, cutting all links to the lands beyond and reducing the rolling planes to dunes of sand for hundreds of miles. This blasted region eventually came to be known as the Sea of Dunes.   Logar Tor was pushed back into the city and, in one of the darkest decisions in the continent's history, Atzënbruuk was quarantined all those inside condemned to death. For months, without pause, the city was surrounded and bombarded with magic, siege weaponry, and all attempting to flee were cut down by the forces of elves, dwarves, and orcs. Fires raged uncontrollably and projectiles tore it to pieces until only ruins remained. To this day, Atzënbruuk stands quiet and cold. The forest around it took on a dark, spectral presence and beat back any curious travellers. Nobody knows if this is the presence of the innocent souls murdered here, or whether Logar Tor survived in hiding and remains there still. The whole peninsula of Kollerdörf has since stood in silence, silently hoarding the destroyed city, which is little more than a crumbling tower.
