the Ninceu Item in Ikaharin | World Anvil

the Ninceu ('nin.t͡ʃɛw)

''-His chisel was as sharp as his mind! As strong as his will! As perfect as his deeds! No impure words it ever carved! No mistakes it spelt! No hand but Our Lord's it ever accepted!   -True words! Let us thus sing these words of praise! Let us thus sing them so loudly all alive may hear them!''
-ceremony of praise
Iter Laku Soksau's personal writing chisel, the Ninceu is one of Irhoibi's most cherished relics. It is so revered, in fact, that it has been given a proper name of its own (translating into 'Fire Blade') and been enshrined inside a dedicated temple.

History

Our Lord's Chisel

''Thus I defeated the king of Suwan, leaving him dead and unable to rise. From the antlers of his very own deer I fashioned the handle of a writing blade, from the bronze of his sceptre I fashioned its blade and the jewels of his clothes I used to it decorate''.
-I.L Soksau boasting of his victory
The item's long history begins with one of Iter Laku Soksau's most famous wars, his campaign against Suwan. After conquering that ancient city, he ordered a chisel to be made out of the defeated king's symbols of power.   Unlike other such pieces of regalia, the emperor actually used this creation for things other than display. Matter of factly, it was his go-to writing tool (for wood) until his death.

Ninceu

''The kingly robes burnt! The tables and boxes turned to ash! All was destroyed by the flames! All but his bright chisel...''
