Dragonblood

Standing tall among the other races of the world, Dragonborn represent a people of strong stature and lineage of the oldest creatures in the world: Dragons. Instead of instilling fear, Dragonborn are often looked to for inspiration and leadership. They are an incredibly loyal people, being even more loyal to their clans.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Dragonborn are bipedal, covered in scales, and has an elongated snout. They do not have tails. Their head dressings and breath weapons vary depending on their color variation.

Genetics and Reproduction

Dragonborn have live births, resulting in females having mammary glands which vary in size depending on the individual.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Traditionally names are structured First Name, Clan Name, Ancestor (Example: Alina Drajeel, daugher of Dragnor). When Dragonborn are courted, the couple agree upon who is the Rimemquellar (draconic for house chief). This can be either member of the courtship but the but determines the name of any children as they take on the Rimemquellar's Clan Name and their First name as an ancestor.

Courtship Ideals

During proposed courtship, one of the members is determined to be the Rimemquellar (house chief). This is usually determined through money, prestige, position. Often this is determined by who initiates the proposed courtship. The Rimemquellar can be either male or female. The Rimemquellar is required to represent the immediate family and appear when a member of that immediate family is brought before the clan courts.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Dragonborn largely speak Draconic, with various dialects depending on the clan and region.

Common Taboos

One of the crimes is the killing of ones own Rimemquellar.

History

Itherion

In the country of Itherion Dragonborn can be found over most of the continent. Different clan origins are found in various regions: Over time smaller clans have cropped up in most regions of the continent, but usually the core clans stay near their points of origin.
