The Heartlands produce the most amount of food per acre than any other region in Itherion. Because of the magical springs from the city of Heartland, every acre of the Heartlands can produce twice as much food as anywhere else. This has made the Heartlands the center for farming, producing wheat, barley, corn, rice, and many more. Different regions specialize in different crops.
The Heartlands is also a place where several types of livestock are raised. Cows, pigs, and chickens are the largest among them. With the increased productivity of raising crops makes the production of meat more sustainable.

Food Preservation and Transportation

A large issue in Itherion is the preservation of food, because of the need to send food across the continent. For this, the production of fermented foods and drinks is a huge industry in the Heartlands. With imported spices from the south of Itherion, a variety of interesting foods have emerged.
The Culinary School of Magic is located in the city of Heartland and has made large strides in the magic of food. A few such areas are the study of preservation, teleportation, and conjuration magic.
