From Humble Beginings
Founded in 4907 by the esteemed visionary Corina Vey Rook; what was at the time known as Rook's Breach, started as little more than an expedition camp. Suffering near daily encroachment by Deadlights, the toll on life was harsh and many believed attempting a permanent settlement on the “Cursed Continent” foolish, but Corina saw the profound benefits to mankind Xen held secret for millennia, and forged ahead.
Thankfully for us all, this resulted in the globe-spanning revolution that was the rediscovery of the long forgotten process of Promtholine extraction- the perfect, infinitely renewable zero emission power source, that has allowed us to live in an era of the most rapid innovation and advancement ever known!

Wow, I was just looking for inspiration for my settlement entry to the competition, and... dang. Man, you're a shoo-in for the winner of this category just off the way the article is constructed, I think. It's very visually appealing to scroll through. This is the kind of visual aesthetic I wish I could give my articles. Sadly, they're mostly just chunks of text divided into headings so that it's not so horrible to look at. Props. This article is incredible.
